Description

The 2026 International Workshop in Engineering Research Infrastructures for European Synergies (ERIES-IW2026) will mark the concluding event of the ERIES project, showcasing its achievements, impact, and long-term outcomes. Bringing together transnational access (TA) users and partners, the workshop will provide a unique platform to reflect on experiences, present results, and highlight advances in seismic, wind, and geotechnical engineering research made possible through ERIES. With its mission of reducing hazard-related losses, managing risk, and supporting sustainable solutions, the event will not only celebrate the research enabled by Europe’s leading experimental facilities but also examine how these efforts are shaping engineering practice, policy, and building standards. As the final milestone of ERIES, the workshop will strengthen collaboration, distill key lessons, and demonstrate the project’s lasting contribution to resilience and sustainability in European engineering.

Notification of acceptance: 19th December 2025

Deadline for papers: 6th March 2026

Registration deadline: 27th March 2026

Draft programme available: 3rd April 2026

Final programme available: 15th May 2026

Publication Details

Abstracts

• Abstracts must be fewer than 200 words

Contributions

• All projects within ERIES must have at least one contribution in the final workshop proceedings
• These contributions will be published in an Open Access special volume of Springer Nature Book Series and will be indexed in Scopus and Ei-Compendex
• Contributions are intended to showcase the scientific developments made during the project, but also reflect the collaborative nature of the project between Access Provider and (AP) and User Group (UG)
• Contributions can be submitted and presented by either via the AP or the UG members
• Contributions are expected to be at least 8 formatted pages, with no upper page limit

Presentation

• Each accepted contribution will have a 15 min presentation during the workshop
• Presentations can be made by either AP or UG members

 

Attending the Workshop

The workshop is open and free of charge to all user group members of ERIES projects. Attendees are required to register and confirm their participation before the specified deadlines, subject to space availability.

Best Young Researcher Presentation Award

On the final day of the workshop, an award will be presented to the young researcher voted as the best speaker. To be eligible, the speaker must be either enrolled in a Master’s or Doctoral programme, or have officially received their PhD title within the past two years prior to the workshop.
