ERIES at the OECD Global Science Forum Workshop
We are pleased to report that the ERIES Deputy Coordinator Gerard J. O’Reilly recently took part in the OECD Global Science Forum (GSF) “Workshop on Fostering Research Infrastructure Ecosystems for Addressing Complex Scientific and Societal Challenges.” This event, held on 28 February 2024 via Zoom, brought together experts from around the world to discuss the development and enhancement of Research Infrastructure (RI) ecosystems.
This workshop is the first of two events aimed at investigating the added values, challenges, and innovative models for RI ecosystem development. Key topics included governance, sustainability, user access, data policy, and the potential impact of RI ecosystems. Insights were drawn from a GSF-conducted survey among RI ecosystem managers and various compelling case studies.
The participation of the ERIES Deputy Coordinator underscores our commitment to contributing to global discussions on advancing research infrastructure to tackle complex scientific and societal issues. We look forward to the outcomes of this workshop and the continued dialogue in the forthcoming second event. The slides of the presentation are available here.
